2003 XFLEX
Full wave design
X-ply film (no monofilm) version, full wave design. Designed using Simmer SC-RDM mast, yet still compatible with standard diameter masts. Evolution of previous model REEF. The XFLEX is the best choice for maximum durability and a softer feel. No monofilm is used in the construction. The XFLEX is designed for progressive cutting edge wave sailing. This design is targeted for use in side-on through side-off shore wind conditions, and down the line wave riding. It is also well suited for lighter sailors in any water conditions due to the short boom and easy feel. New for 2003- The XFLEX is now available in larger sizes of 5.6 and 6.1. The luff lengths of all sizes have gotten shorter, which now allows us to use a 400 mast in 5.0. The largest size, 6.1, requires only a 430 mast. The sub 4.0 sizes are easier to downhaul, yet have more overall leech twist. This makes these sizes feel more soft and flexible. Extensive high wind testing has provided these changes.
